AIRLINE PILOTS WELCOME LORDS’ CALL FOR FATIGUE INVESTIGATION
Commenting on today’s recommendation by the House of Lords Science and Technology Committee, for a study into the long term affects of fatigue on air crew, Jim McAuslan, General Secretary of the British Airline Pilots’ Association (BALPA) said:
‘This is a welcome development and one which all people who care about flight safety should embrace.
' In a recent survey of UK pilots nearly four out of five pilots said that the public should be concerned about pilot fatigue.
'It is gratifying that this is being recognised and BALPA looks forward to playing its part in such a study'.
