As BALPA’s Digital Marketing and Communications Officer you will be a passionate, dynamic individual with excellent communication  skills and an eye for detail.

You will support and assist the communications team with the implementation of external and internal communications campaigns and plans. This includes working with the Communications Manager to develop and deliver a digital communication strategy across our social media and digital platforms.

You will collate, edit and publish news items for a variety of BALPA audiences.

We are looking for a person who is creative and has an analytical mindset and who has a proven track record of working with social media in a professional environment. You will demonstrate an understanding of trends in both the digital landscape and audience behaviour.

You must have had experience in writing engaging and inspiring copy and a proven track record of undertaking a wide range of communications activity, as well as experience in cross organisational working.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the development and delivery of engaging digital communication messages, campaigns and events on all BALPA digital platforms, to agreed time and quality standards.
  • Managing and enhancing our website, portal and app, utilising Google Analytics and user experience techniques to evaluate effectiveness.
  • Developing and overseeing our online news and email campaigns, ensuring the creation of captivating newsletters.
  • Designing and implementing a social media strategy across our various social media platforms.
  • Crafting compelling content for various communication channels, including articles, press releases, images, and videos for social media, internal communications and our website.
  • Using design software and skills to ensure content is engaging, looks good and is formatted for various platforms.
  • Working in collaboration with colleagues across the organisation, planning, scheduling and posting messages that promote BALPA and our core messages.
  • Monitoring and engaging with our social media audience, responding to messages and comments.
  • Working with the Communications Manager to develop our digital strategy.
  • There is some need to be available out of hours and to man the out of hours emergency media phone.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience contributing to digital communications strategies.
  • The ability to connect with diverse individuals and organisations.
  • Proven success in elevating organisational profiles and engagement.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and CRM systems.
  • Capability in creating and editing multimedia content, including images, videos, and audio.
