Helping pilots know their career options

by Wendy Pursey

The career market is ever changing and getting up to speed on your options if you’re looking for the next step in your career can seem like a minefield. Getting the right information, from the right people, and knowing you’re being given an accurate picture can help this all fall into place.

We know that your time is precious, so three years ago we partnered with Seager to start our Flight Crew Futures event, to give pilots access to current career information in one place, bringing pilots and recruiters together. We host the event twice a year and this autumn we’re returning with our fifth event at Hilton at London Gatwick on 16th of October.

Airlines are now expanding their fleets providing an opportunity whether experienced, low-hour or recently qualified candidates to further their career. Flight Crew Futures is also aimed at military air crew who are seeking pilot career opportunities after the forces, within the commercial sector.

On the day you can expect to meet a host of recruiters and airlines, including Emirates, West Atlantic, Spring Japan, Wizz Air, Flight Safety International and Goose Recruitment as well as various presentations that will provide a comprehensive overview of current flight crew requirements and career opportunities. BALPA will also be on hand, with members of our Membership and Career Services team, along with some of our reps.

The event is attended by pilots who are thinking about a change of career, such as moving to a different airline. They are able to speak to those airlines direct and get honest feedback.

So, if you are thinking about the next stage in your flying career, the Hilton at London’s Gatwick Airport is the place to be on the 16th of October 2019, from 1000-1600.
