BALPA General Secretary, Brian Strutton, said:

“We hope this blunt policy measure, which is yet another body blow to our vital air transport industry, will be accompanied with substantial compensation from the Government.

“We have still not had any good explanation from the Government as to why they refuse to support airport testing as an alternative to such punitive travel restrictions.”
