In response to the IALPA statement on the report into crash of R116, BALPA General Secretary Martin Chalk said:

“BALPA supports our close partner union in Ireland, the Irish Airline Pilots’ Association, in their quest to secure justice and answers for members and their families.

“Our condolences go out to and our thoughts the families of these brave pilots and crew who lost their lives while seeking to help others.

“BALPA supports IALPA’s call for the Irish Government to review the failures identified in the full accident investigation report and bring forward proposals to address them.”
