British Airways must listen to its pilots, says BALPA

The British Airline Pilots Association reports that strike action was supported virtually 100% in a dispute over pay and benefits.

British Airways cancelled almost all flights with strike action due to continue tomorrow.  BALPA said the strength of feeling amongst pilots should be a wake-up call for British Airways.

Despite BALPA’s olive branch offer last Wednesday, there are currently no further negotiations planned and the strike action will continue until 23.59 tomorrow night.

BALPA General Secretary Brian Strutton said:

“Pilots are standing firm and have shown just how resolute they are today. British Airways needs to start listening to its pilots and actually come up with ways of resolving this dispute.”
