BALPA and CAE Crewing Services sign recognition agreement

The British Airline Pilots’ Association (BALPA) has secured a recognition agreement with CAE Crewing Services to provide representation to the company’s UK SAS pilots.

The Dublin-based company joins 23 other companies that recognises BALPA as the pilot association to negotiate in areas such as pay and terms and conditions.

The news comes just two months after BALPA secured an historic recognition agreement with Ryanair.

CAE Parc Aviation provides aviation personnel and services to airlines, that employs over 1,000 pilots.

The recognition will specifically represent UK-based SAS pilots within the company, as they set up a new Heathrow base.

BALPA National Officer, Terry Brandon, said:

“BALPA represents around 10,000 pilots across the UK and we’re delighted to welcome pilots at CAE Crewing Services to the BALPA family.

“We are now looking forward to developing a constructive relationship with them, which we believe will be beneficial to both pilots and the airline.”

Frank Collins, General Manager from CAE Crewing Services, said:

“We believe that signing recognition with BALPA is a positive step for CAE Crewing Services and our pilots.

“We look forward to working with BALPA and demonstrating to our pilots that we are committed to ensuring our company is a great place to work.”
