BALPA helps pilots take their next career step

The British Airline Pilots’ Association (BALPA) is to give expert advice to pilots who are looking for work or considering a career move, at a networking event this week.

Over 400 pilots are expected to attend Flight Crew Futures on Wednesday 16th May 2018, from 10:00 – 16:30 at The Hilton, Gatwick Airport.

The event aims to partner pilots with airlines and recruiting agencies who are specifically looking for experienced or low-hour and recently-qualified flight crew to fill their right and left seats. Flight Crew Futures is also aimed at military air crew who are seeking pilot career opportunities after the forces, within the commercial sector.

BALPA careers experts will be there to provide direction and guidance on all opportunities as well as CV and interview support. There will be informative presentations throughout, and the ‘drop-in’ format of the day will also include addresses from recruiters. Each will deliver an overview of their current flight crew requirements, salary packages and employment terms. The programme will also include several presentations by BALPA on topics relevant to today’s pilots.

Head of Membership and Career Services at BALPA, Wendy Pursey said:

“This is a great opportunity for pilots to network and meet the companies who are recruiting.

“Visiting pilots will get the chance to meet directly with recruiters in a single venue – this is a unique opportunity to get all the facts, career advice and answers in an informal environment”
