BALPA response to BA/IAG shareholder pay revolt

Responding to the British Airways / International Airlines Group (IAG) shareholder pay revolt, BALPA General Secretary Martin Chalk said:

“This proposed excessive hike in executives’ share awards is beyond insulting to the staff who are still taking the pain of reduced pay and conditions. BA Pilots continue to face deductions in pay that are set to continue for years to come.

If the company is recovering, the priority should be a return of pay and conditions for all. It certainly should not be just the fat cat management at the top skimming off the cream at the expense of staff.”
