The National Officer is responsible for leading negotiating and bargaining; complex case work and developing and implementing strategies in each of our bargaining areas.
Each National Officer is responsible for a number of bargaining areas and a designated employment policy focus. The bargaining areas and policy areas will be rotated around the National Officer team from time to time. We currently have a team of five National Officers expanding to six in 2025 and then seven in 2026.
BALPA is currently in a period of reform and modernisation. All BALPA staff are expected to show willingness to learn, change and develop and contribute to a positive, supportive and collaborative workplace culture.

Qualifications & Experience
- Experience of industrial bargaining with proven successes.
- Knowledge of UK employment, equality and trade union legislation.
- Experience of individual and collective casework with proven success.
- Knowledge of the aviation industry.
