BALPA General Secretary says “Pass the Employment Rights Bill.”
British Airline Pilots Association (BALPA) General Secretary Amy Leversidge, today, issued an urgent message to the House of Lords “Pass the Employment Rights Bill.”
The call comes as the Bill returns to the Lords after MPs voted to remove amendments made by the Lords last week to plans to remove the cap on payouts for unfair dismissal.
BALPA General Secretary, Amy Leversidge, said, “It is time for the House of Lords to respect the democratic will of the British public and pass the Employment Rights Bill.
“The Bill was in Labour’s manifesto last year, which Britons voted for in their millions. The House of Commons have made concessions after interventions from the Lords and now it is time for the Lords to stop their delaying tactics and allow the Bill to pass.
“The Employment Rights Bill will make significant improvements to the rights at work for millions of workers across the UK to ensure fairness and dignity and a better balance of powers”
